The GORTEC (Oncology and Radiotherapy Group for Head and Neck Cancer ) was created in 1999 by five founder centers (Clermont-Ferrand, Nancy, Nantes, Tours and Villejuif) with the intention of coordinating and performing clinical and/or biological studies in the fields of head and neck cancer.
Clinical studies run by the GORTEC are opened to all centers which would like to participate. These studies include a quality control of the files for each patient included in these trials, performed by internal and external experts.
Elected by the GORTEC office among the creative members (cf. inside rules) the President of the Group is Pr. Jean Bourhis (CRLCC Villejuif), the Secretary is Dr Juliette Thariat (Centre Antoine Lacassagne Nice) and the Treasurer is Dr. Etienne Bardet (CRLCC Nantes).
The Oncology and Radiotherapy Group For Head and Neck Cancer is an association governed by the law of 1 ° July, 1901 and the decree of August 16th, 1901. (Official newspaper of the French Republic of May 8th).
